Riley was seven when he suddenly became unwell. After urgent veterinary visits and extensive testing, we discovered he had severe intolerances to several ingredients, including pork, beef, rabbit and eggs.
Life of Riley began with a black Patterdale Terrier, a frightening discovery and one simple promise: to understand exactly what was going into Riley’s treats.
We understand how important it is to know what is in the food you give your dog, because that is exactly where our own journey began.
Riley was seven when he suddenly became unwell. After urgent veterinary visits and extensive testing, we discovered he had severe intolerances to several ingredients, including pork, beef, rabbit and eggs.
We had loved Riley since he was a pup, yet we had not realised that some everyday treats contained ingredients his body could not tolerate. It changed the way we looked at every label.
Determined to do better for Riley, we began making our own natural, grain-free dog treats using carefully selected plant-based ingredients and no unnecessary artificial nasties.
Riley deserved treats that brought him joy without giving his sensitive tummy something to regret.
Riley’s intolerances made us question what dog treats could be. We wanted them to feel celebratory and special, but also to be made from ingredients owners could understand.
That idea grew into the Life of Riley bakery: a place where every biscuit is made with the same care that first went into Riley’s own treats.

Riley went on to live a long and happy life. Although our beloved boy is no longer with us, his story continues in every treat we bake and every dog we help to include in life’s little celebrations.
